# What connects the German Armed Forces, artificial intelligence (AI) and ZUGSEIL?

Together with BWI GmbH (the Bundeswehr's IT system house), we have developed the "BundesWEAR" app to enable automatic size recognition with artificial intelligence for soldiers.

Until now, the clothing process was very time-consuming and cost-intensive. Every year, around 560,000 hours of pure service time were spent on outfitting and more than 500,000 kilometers were covered.

With the "BundesWEAR" app, soldiers can now be measured wherever they are. The custom-fit order is then delivered either to their home or directly to the barracks. The integrated returns process helps the AI to learn and continuously improve in terms of accuracy of fit.

This project was not only awarded a gold medal at the 21st eGovernment competition in 2022, but also and above all makes an important value contribution to environmental protection and the safety of the soldiers of the German Armed Forces.

4. **Individuality:** Some employees may have individual requirements for their work clothing due to physical limitations or personal preferences. These requirements should be taken into account as best as possible.
5. **Hygiene:** Ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of work clothing may be a key requirement in certain work environments where clothing becomes heavily soiled.
6 **Loss or theft:** Employees may lose their workwear or valuable assets may be stolen. Often this requires regular reordering and consistent monitoring to ensure all employees are adequately equipped and inventory is maintained
7. **Employee rotation:** When new employees are hired or team compositions change, new workwear must be procured, individualized and customized.
8 **Budgeting:** Managing workwear costs can also be a challenge. It is important to establish and maintain an appropriate budget for the purchase, maintenance, and replacement of workwear.
